There's a difference between a superhero and a hero. Superheroes are fantasy. Heroes are real. And they're among us. But they're not defined by superpowers. It's their deeds that make them extraordinary.
DOC BOSTON BLACK HERO is a documentary/narrative hybrid that tells the story of DR. FRANK BOSTON (1890-1960). Doc Boston was a WWI veteran and a member of the all African American army unit, Buffalo Soldiers. He was also a doctor, surgeon, and the first black American to found both a hospital and an ambulance corps in the United States. Doc Boston was forgotten by history... until now.
We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit established to raise awareness of a forgotten black American hero and role model for a new generation. Our mission is to provide a more complete and inclusive view of history, and to encourage interest in medicine, emergency medical services, and the sciences. We have ambitious goals to share the uplifting Doc Boston story with the world by having a compelling documentary film produced.
To that end, we have brought in our trusted collaborator, Emmy Award-winning Macintosh Films, to create a captivating story that resonates with audiences. This documentary-narrative hybrid brings Doc Boston to life in creative, cinematic, and memorable scenes that showcase his extraordinary life of service to others.
